This Cookie Policy explains how Monitor HQ, operated by Business API, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our site or use the Service. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember information about your visit, like your login state or preferences, and are widely used to make websites work and to understand how they're used.
2. Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary
These keep the Service functioning and can't be switched off if you want to use it:
- Session cookie - keeps you logged in as you navigate the app
- CSRF token - protects forms from cross-site request forgery
Preferences
Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, but it serves the same purpose: remembering a preference across visits.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our site - which pages are viewed, how people navigate, and general traffic patterns. This helps us improve the site and product.
Advertising
We run Google Ads campaigns and use conversion tracking (also delivered through Google Tag Manager) to measure how effective those campaigns are - for example, whether someone who clicked an ad went on to sign up. This may involve Google setting advertising cookies to link an ad click to a later visit.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Google Analytics and Google Ads are operated by Google and are subject to Google's own cookie policy. We don't control what Google does with the data those tools collect beyond the settings we configure - see Google's policy for how they use it.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings - most browsers let you block cookies entirely, block third-party cookies only, or clear existing cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using the Service properly.
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, Google provides a browser add-on. To manage how Google personalises ads you see across the web, visit Google Ads Settings.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies and similar technologies changes. Check back here for the latest version.
