Know When Charity Registration Changes
MonitorHQ checks the ACNC Register of Australian charities for each entity you monitor, and alerts you when an entity is added to the register or is no longer listed. Included on every plan.
> Entity registered as a charity with the ACNC
> Entity no longer listed on the ACNC register
Why It Matters
Charity status can change without a call
The register records it. Nobody has to tell you.
A grantee or tenant loses charity registration
You gave a grant, a lease or a donation receipt on the basis that the entity is a registered charity. If it leaves the register, your file still says it was registered.
A new charity appears against an entity you watch
An entity you monitor becomes a registered charity, which can change tax treatment, grant eligibility and how you deal with it.
A supplier or partner claims charity status
Checking the register once tells you the position on that day. Monitoring tells you if it moves afterwards.
What We Monitor
Two signals, one entity page
Where an entity is a registered charity, the registration is shown on its page
Charity registered
The entity appearing on the ACNC Register of Australian charities, matched by ABN.
No longer listed
The entity no longer appearing on the register, recorded with the date it was noticed.
Honest Limits
What it does not do
Know the edges before you rely on it
Only entities matched by ABN
The register is keyed by ABN. An entity is matched when its ABN appears on it, and it does not match on name.
Charities can ask to be withheld
A charity can ask for some or all of its details to be withheld from the published register, so a registered charity may not appear.
Register snapshots, refreshed about weekly
The ACNC publishes the register as a file that is refreshed about weekly, so a change can reach you days after it happens. It is not a live feed.
Listed or not, nothing more
It does not report annual information statements, governance, compliance action or the reason a charity left the register. Alerts are general information, not legal advice.
Common Questions
Straight answers
What is charity register monitoring?
Charity register monitoring means keeping watch on the ACNC Register of Australian charities for changes to an entity's registration, so a charity being added, or no longer listed, does not go unnoticed. MonitorHQ does this for every entity you monitor.
How is an entity matched to the register?
By ABN. The ACNC register is keyed by ABN, and an entity is matched when its ABN appears on it. It does not match on name.
Will it tell me why a charity left the register?
No. It reports that the entity is no longer listed. It does not report the reason, which can include revocation, voluntary deregistration or a request to withhold details.
How quickly will I hear about a change?
The ACNC publishes the register as a file that is refreshed about weekly. MonitorHQ checks for a new file daily and alerts you quickly once one shows a change, so an alert can lag the change itself by days.
Does it cost extra or count towards my entity limit?
No. Licence and registration monitoring is included on every plan at no extra cost and does not count towards entity limits. This page is general information, not legal advice.
