For Financial Advisers

Watch the Structures Behind Your Clients

Your business owner clients often hold wealth through companies, trusts and SMSF trustee companies, and advice depends on those structures being what you think they are. Directors, addresses and ABN status can change without anyone telling you. MonitorHQ monitors the entities behind your clients and alerts you quickly, so your file reflects the register.

What Goes Unnoticed

The changes nobody tells you about

SMSF trustee company changes

A corporate trustee changes directors, address or status. That affects the fund and the advice you have given about it.

Client company status changes

A client's operating company is deregistered or enters external administration, which changes their wealth position and your advice.

Directors added or removed

Officeholders change on a client or family company without you being told, so authority and decision-makers on your file are out of date.

Client ABN or business name lapses

A client business loses its ABN or business name registration. It can signal trouble that affects cash flow and the plan you built.

How It Fits Your Work

One profile per entity, watched continuously

ABN, ACN and business name monitoring in one place, plus PPSR for ACN, ARBN and ARSN-registered entities

01

Map the entity structure

Add a profile for each client company, trustee company and business entity. Bulk import suits a whole client book.

02

Alerts as review triggers

A change alert is a prompt to contact the client, review the structure and confirm the advice still fits.

03

Share with your practice

Team seats let paraplanners and support staff triage alerts, while advisers keep oversight of their own clients.

Questions Financial Advisers Ask

Straight answers

Does this replace a client file review?

No. It tells you when a client's entity changed on the public registers. Reviewing the advice and the file remains your responsibility.

Does it cover trusts and individuals?

ABN and business-name monitoring apply to trusts and sole traders with an ABN. Individuals without an ABN are not registered entities. PPSR monitoring only applies to ACN, ARBN and ARSN entities.

Can we monitor SMSF trustee companies?

Yes, a corporate trustee with an ACN can be monitored like any other company. Where the fund itself holds an ABN, that ABN can be monitored too.

Is this practical for a smaller practice?

Cost scales with the entities you monitor, so you can begin with business owner clients and corporate trustees, and add more later.
