Matters Run Long. Registers Keep Moving.
A matter can run for months, and the entities on it do not stand still. A director resigns, the registered office changes or a security interest appears while you are relying on details you checked at the start. MonitorHQ watches the client and counterparty entities on your files and alerts you to changes quickly, with a record of what changed and when.
What Goes Unnoticed
The changes nobody tells you about
Counterparty changes mid-matter
You verified the counterparty at instruction, then a director change or address change happens before completion. Nothing prompts you to look again.
Insolvency notice lodged late
A counterparty company enters external administration or liquidation and the notice is lodged while the matter is still open. You want to hear about it before settlement, not after.
Client details drift out of date
Your client's registered address, officeholders or ABN status no longer match what is on your file. Documents and notices go out with stale details.
Security interests appear unseen
A new PPSR registration is lodged against a company counterparty after your initial search. For ACN-registered entities, you can be alerted to it.
How It Fits Your Work
One profile per entity, watched continuously
ABN, ACN and business name monitoring in one place, plus PPSR for ACN, ARBN and ARSN-registered entities
Add entities at matter opening
Set up a profile for each client and counterparty entity when the matter opens, or bulk import them for a transaction with many parties.
Alerts to the responsible lawyer
Team seats let you direct change alerts to the partner or associate running the matter rather than a shared inbox.
A dated trail on the file
Each change is recorded with old and new values, giving you a dated note to put on the matter file, and an ongoing CDD trigger export on the Practice plan.

Questions Lawyers Ask
Straight answers
Is this a substitute for formal searches?
No. Formal ASIC, PPSR and other searches for a transaction are still yours to order. MonitorHQ watches for changes between and after those searches.
Can we monitor entities we do not act for?
Yes. You can monitor counterparties and related parties by ABN or ACN. Alerts reflect public register changes only, not anything specific to your retainer.
How does it relate to Tranche 2 obligations?
The Tranche 2 reforms extend AML/CTF obligations, including ongoing customer due diligence, to certain services provided by professions such as lawyers. MonitorHQ helps support that work by surfacing entity changes, but it does not decide what your program requires.
Do we need to monitor every matter?
No. Many firms monitor longer-running matters, repeat clients and higher-risk counterparties first. You can stop monitoring an entity when the matter closes.
