Your Docket Tracks the Deadline. The Register Tracks the Rest.
Your docketing system holds the instructions and the deadlines you know about. The IP Australia register moves on its own: a new filing appears in a client's name, a status changes, a mark is assigned away. MonitorHQ sits next to your docketing system as a register-watch layer. It matches marks to each client entity by the owner's ABN or ACN as recorded on the register and alerts you quickly when something changes, with reminders at 90, 30 and 7 days before a registered mark's renewal due date.
What Goes Unnoticed
The changes nobody tells you about
A mark lapses because a renewal was missed
A renewal falls through a handover, an email address or a client who changed agents. The mark can be removed from the register, and the first you hear of it is a clearance search or a dispute.
Assignments recorded without you
A mark is assigned to or from a client entity and the change appears on the register. If the client did not tell you, your portfolio list is already out of step with the record.
New filings in a client's name
A trade mark is filed against a client's ABN or ACN by a related party, an in-house team or an earlier agent. It is on the register, but not on your file.
Status changes during prosecution
A mark moves to accepted, registered, refused or removed while you are relying on the status you last checked. The date matters when the next step has a deadline.
How It Fits Your Work
One profile per entity, watched continuously
ABN, ACN and business name monitoring in one place, plus PPSR for ACN, ARBN and ARSN-registered entities
Add each client entity once
Create one profile per client entity by ABN or ACN, or bulk import the list. Trade marks recorded against that ABN or ACN are matched to the profile, alongside ABN, company and business name monitoring.
Reminders that back up your diary
Registered marks carry a renewal due date, and reminders go out at 90, 30 and 7 days before it. Use them as a second check next to your own docket, not a replacement for it.
A dated record per mark
Each mark's renewal due date, status, classes and history are shown on the entity page, with changes recorded as they are detected. Team seats let the right person triage each alert.

Questions Trade Mark Attorneys Ask
Straight answers
Does this replace our docketing system?
No. It is a register-watch layer that sits next to your own system. It tells you what the IP Australia register shows against a client's ABN or ACN, including changes you were not instructed on. Deadlines, instructions and client communication stay in your docket.
How are marks matched to a client?
By the owner's ABN or ACN as recorded on the IP Australia register. A mark recorded without either identifier, or under a different entity, will not be matched, so it is worth confirming coverage for each client against the register.
Does it alert us to similar marks filed by other people?
No. It is not a brand-conflict or look-alike watch service. It covers marks owned by the entities you monitor, not other people's marks that resemble them. Use a dedicated watch service for opposition and conflict monitoring.
Does it cost extra or count towards entity limits?
Trade mark monitoring is included on every plan at no extra cost, and it does not count towards entity limits. This is general information, not legal advice.
